My surprising journey into youth ministry began about a year ago. My husband, Elijah, was ready and excited to serve as a youth leader at the church we were attending. On our way there, he said, "You should do it with me, I think you'd make a fantastic youth leader." To which I responded, "No, no, no, no, teenagers are not my thing. My comfort zone is with the littles in the children's ministry." Elijah continued to argue his case. When he went up to the Youth Pastor to volunteer, I piped in, "And, I'll give it a shot too." From there on, I was thrown into the youth ministry deep end. I found myself the only female youth leader, serving every week, teaching lessons, and being requested to start a weekly middle school youth night. After being hurled into the youth ministry fire, I found that I not only loved it but thrived there as well.
I grew up in the church my entire life and started to have a good understanding of who Jesus was at a young age. But unfortunately, my teenage years allowed dark things into my life. It wasn't until I met my husband that I started to pursue a relationship with Jesus. Now I'm someone who is super passionate about my relationship with Jesus and sharing the love of Jesus with others. Because of my past, I am extra passionate about sharing, specifically with teenagers, what Jesus has done in my life.
When I'm not involved in youth events, I love to go on adventures with my husband, play video games, read, and play board games. I would love for you to come and introduce yourself on Sundays! Please don’t hesitate to find me — I’m looking forward to meeting you!
